Pride bid farewell to General Manager Karilyn Pilch

July 2, 2021 – The Boston Pride have announced that team General Manager, Karilyn Pilch, will be departing the organization to join the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks in a new position for the 2021-22 season. After guiding the Pride through two successful NWHL seasons, including the 2021 Isobel Cup Championship, Pilch will serve the Original Six team in the role of Scout, Player Personnel.

“Karilyn has served this team with all of her heart and soul. She has provided our players with a level of professionalism and an experience that is second to none,” said Boston Pride President, Colleen Coyne.

Head Coach, Paul Mara, had this to say about Karilyn, “She has been an amazing GM for the Boston Pride and was instrumental in the team’s success over the past two years. We will all miss her but wish her all the best in her move to the NHL.”

Echoing Mara’s sentiments, team Owner and Chair Miles Arnone said, “We appreciate all that Karilyn has contributed to our team, the NWHL, and the sport of women’s hockey. She has a passion for the game and we’re confident her commitment and dedication will serve the Blackhawks well, just as it did the Pride.”

Pilch will be evaluating and helping to identify the future stars of the NHL and joins a growing roster of female scouts in the league that includes the likes of Cammi Granato (Seattle Kraken), Blake Bolden (LA Kings), and Meghan Hunter (Blackhawks).

“I owe each one of my players and staff members a debt of gratitude for all they have done as we worked together through these past two seasons,” Pilch said of her time as Pride GM. “From the challenges to the celebrations, draft day to raising the cup, this truly amazing group of individuals has made me a better professional, and instilled a confidence in me I will rely on to be a successful member of the Chicago Blackhawks, and for that, I’m forever grateful.”

The Pride expect to announce a new GM prior to the 2021-22 season.
