International Talent Aneta Tejralová Signs with Boston Pride
Boston, MA – The Boston Pride have announced the signing of Czech defender Aneta Tejralová for the upcoming 2022-23 Premier Hockey Federation season. Additional terms of this contract will not be disclosed.
The 26-year-old hails from Praha, Czechia and is one of her country’s top players, accumulating international experience since she was 15. Tejralová represented Czechia at the 2022 Winter Olympics, and has also competed in eight IIHF World Championship events including five in the Top Division plus three gold medal victories in Division IA. Among her notable performances was recognition as Best Defenseman at age 19 competing in the 2015 DIA event, and selection as a Top-3 player for her team in 2017’s main tournament. She also competed in four IIHF World U18 Championships, serving as team captain and one of the Top-3 players in 2013, followed by a bronze medal victory in 2014.
“I am so excited for the upcoming season and looking forward to playing for Boston,” said Tejralová. “I can't wait to meet my new teammates and win a Cup!”
Tejralová has played the last eight seasons in Russia, most recently with SKIF Nizhny Novgorod from 2020-22, where she was an alternate captain her second season. She had 64 points in 64 games played, and 46 of those points came in the 2021-22 campaign when she had a +40 plus/minus rating through 36 games. She first played in Russia for Dynamo St. Petersburg from 2015-20, serving as an alternate captain for two seasons. There she scored 108 points in 142 games played and accumulated an impressive +54 plus/minus rating.
“Aneta has been an incredible player on the world’s biggest stages, and we are excited to bring her talents to Boston,” said Pride Head Coach, Paul Mara. “Tejralová will have an immediate impact in all three zones. We are thrilled to add her to our highly skilled roster as her talent, skill, and experience will have a great effect on our on-ice success.”
Tejralová is Boston’s eleventh signing of the offseason, as the team continues to build their roster. She joins returnees McKenna Brand, Meghara McManus, Lauren Kelly, Christina Putigna, Taylor Wenczkowski, and Kali Flanagan, as well as free agent Allie Thunstrom, and collegiate newcomers Becca Gilmore, Élizabeth Giguère, and Corinne Schroeder. Tejralová provides a strong offensive presence to the Pride’s blue line and will be a key piece in the team’s hunt to win a third straight Isobel Cup.
